SSR Performance travels to Imola for the third DTM weekend

SSR Performance is heading to Bella Italia. The third DTM event of the season takes place in Imola. Laurens Vanthoor (BEL) and Dennis Olsen (NOR) are determined to score points for the championship.

Munich. Tradizione, passione, pizza e pasta – the third DTM event of the season takes place at one of the most beautiful tracks in Italy, in Imola. SSR Performance is highly motivated for the two races on the 4.909 km long track. 22 turns offer the fans a lot of action and excitement on site when they cheer for about 30 vehicles. The DTM celebrates its premiere at the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari, as does Laurens Vanthoor, who did the first laps in the Porsche 911 GT3 R during testing at the beginning of June.

The Munich based team with its unmistakable vehicle designs has not yet been able to fully show its potential. But in the remaining five events, the aim is to have the performance on point.

Laurens Vanthoor, driver #92: “After two 24-hour races, neither of which unfortunately ended positively, it is now definitely time for success stories. We took a step in the right direction at the Lausitzring. We have to continue to follow this trend and then we should also be able to fight for podium positions. Imola is a completely new track for me. That’s why I was able to prepare well for the race on the test day and I’m now looking forward to attacking.”

SSR Performance with top-10 positions at the Lausitzring

The second event of the DTM season took place at the Lausitzring at the weekend. Laurens Vanthoor (BEL) and Dennis Olsen (NOR) showed a strong performance.

Race 1

SSR Performance was highly motivated for the first qualifying session at the Lausitzring. After results that weren’t ideal, with Dennis Olsen and Laurens Vanthoor on 11th and 22nd place respectively, the team started the race. Contact on the first lap forced the #94 to chase the field from the back. The sister car managed to make up a few positions in the early stages. The crew of the Porsche 911 GT3 R decided to pit early. For Olsen the race ended with 14 minutes remaining. For safety reasons resulting from the events of the first lap, the crew parked the vehicle. Laurens Vanthoor crossed the finish line on seventh place, claiming important championship points with him.

Race 2

Qualifying on Sunday initially looked positive for Dennis Olsen. Lying on P2, the red flag was waved when one of the cars in the field burst into flames. After a short break, the session continued with four minutes remaining. The Norwegian and his Belgian team-mate finished the session on P13 and P17. In the race, the team showed on the 4.601 km long track that it can keep up with its opponents. After a good initial phase, the cars showed exciting duels. Porsche factory driver Laurens Vanthoor secured the second top-10 placement of the weekend and proved that the racing pace in the 911 is on point. Dennis Olsen ended up eleventh. In both races, SSR Performance had the strongest Porsche in the top-class DTM field of 29 vehicles.

The next DTM weekend will take place from June 17th to 19th in Imola, Italy.

SSR Performance with full focus on chasing DTM points at the Lausitzring

Munich. This weekend, SSR Performance will compete in the DTM at the Lausitzring with two Porsche 911 GT3 R. 17 teams start on the 4.601 km long track. Turn 1 in particular, will be a spectacle for the fans: Up to three vehicles can drive next to each other in the banked turn and the wall along the start-finish straight often offers the opportunity for collisions.

First points for SSR Performance in the DTM

With three top ten finishes in Portimao, the team collected important points for the championship.

Race 1

After the first qualifying at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve Portimao, Portugal,the Balance of Performance (BoP) was slightly adjusted for the race, after the initial shock for the Porsche in the field. Dennis Olsen and Laurens Vanthoor made their DTM debut at the 4.653 km circuit from 19th and 26th place. A good start and the right pit stop strategy allowed the #92 and #94 cars to clear up the field from the back. With 17 laps remaining, things got exciting again. The safety car was deployed, allowing the SSR drivers to attack again. The strikingly designed Porsche 911 GT3 R crossed the finish line on fifth (Dennis Olsen) and eighth (Laurens Vanthoor) positions, making for a strong comeback.

Race 2

Sunday’s qualifying was more positive than the one the day before. Porsche factory driver Laurens Vanthoor started the race from eleventh position and was seventh after the first lap. He was able to defend until the end. Dennis Olsen started the race in 16th position and made up five places in the 33 laps.

In total, the SSR Performance drivers collected 20 points for the championship. In addition, the team had the strongest Porsche in both races.

The next DTM weekend will take place from May 20th to 22nd at the Lausitzring, Germany.

The whole team worked very hard, but unfortunatelym we didn’t have a chance of getting a better place this weekend because the classification in the strong field wasn’t right. “We traveled to Portimao full of anticipation. Unfortunately, we weren’t ranked correctly in terms of BoP, which took away our chance of a podium. I see a need for action here for the next races. “It wasn’t an easy start to the championship. The first qualifying was a shock for all of us. In the race we fought back. It’s the first time in the DTM for all of us, we learn something new every time we’re on the track. It went better today. We also moved up the front in the race, but there is definitely room for improvement.”

„It was a difficult weekend. We did a good job in general and had a good car. But despite a good effort, we didn’t get the results we wanted. Still, I was happy to get some points yesterday. Munich. SSR Performance starts a new chapter in motorsport. After the guest start last year, where it was the first Porsche team to write history in the championship, it is now celebrating its debut in the DTM. SSR Performance presents its vehicle designs for the 2022 DTM season

SSR Performance publishes the new designs of its two Porsche 911 GT3 R, which will be driven by Laurens Vanthoor and Dennis Olsen in the usual striking green.

DTM season opener this weekend in Portimao

Munich. Just in time for the DTM season opener in Portimao, Portugal, SSR Performance is presenting the vehicle designs of its Porsche 911 GT3 R. The top-class driver line-up, consisting of Porsche factory driver Laurens Vanthoor (BEL), who will be driving the #92, and contract driver Dennis Olsen (NOR), on the #94, already set an exclamation mark.

The unmistakable SSR green, aggressive lines and eye-catching color gradients characterize the vehicle’s look. In order to visually distinguish the two vehicles from each other, bright red color elements were chosen on the side mirrors and wiper arm on the #94. The starting numbers placed on the sides and roof of the cars are especially striking this year.

To put the car designs in the right light, SSR Performance organized a special photo shoot.

SSR Huber Racing motivated for Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup and Carrera Cup Germany season

With Huber Racing, SSR Performance is expanding the motorsport commitment around Michael Ammermüller, who will start in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup and Porsche Carrera Cup Germany. Laurin Heinrich is also supported in the German one-make cup.

Munich. In recent years, SSR Performance has relied on Porsche veteran Michael Ammermüller. Both the ADAC GT Masters driver and team titles in 2020 and the runner-up title in 2021 were celebrated together. The commitment will be continued this season with Huber Racing, in the “SSR Huber Racing Team”. Ammermüller starts in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup and in the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany in SSR design.

The Munich team will also continue to support the Laurin Heinrich program. The rookie champion from last year is competing in the championships for the first time as a Porsche Junior.

Morris Schuring, Pro Champion in the Porsche Sprint Challenge Middle East, completes the Carrera Cup championship line-up.

Munich. After SSR Performance caused a stir with the entry of two Porsche 911 GT3 R for the 2022 DTM season, the top-class line-up has now been confirmed. The team from Munich relies on Porsche factory driver Laurens Vanthoor (BEL), who will drive the #92. After successes such as victory in the IMSA GTD classification, the 24h race at Spa and the 24h race at Le Mans, he is celebrating his debut season in the championship.

His team-mate is Porsche contract driver Dennis Olsen (NOR), who takes his place behind the wheel of the #94. He is also considered a Porsche veteran and was able to win the 12 Hours of Bathurst and 9 Hours of Kyalami.

SSR Performance is contesting its debut in the DTM after the guest start last year, where it made history as the first Porsche team in the championship. The official kick off take place on April 29th in Portimao, Portugal. On eight weekends, each with two sprint races, the team wants to continue the success stories of the last few years with its two vehicles.

Munich. SSR Performance causes a bang and enters two Porsche 911 GT3 Rs for the DTM season 2022. The team is one of the manufacturer’s most successful customer teams. After the driver and team title in the ADAC GT Masters 2020 and the runner-up title in 2021, SSR Performance is now facing the next exciting challenge.

In 2021, SSR Performance completed a guest start with veteran Michael Ammermüller (GER), which went down in DTM history as the first Porsche outing.

With entering two vehicles, starting numbers #92 and #94, the commitment to motorsport is to be continued. With at least eight international racing weekends, the DTM is the perfect stage to showcase the Munich-based company.

The line-up for the two vehicles remains a well-kept secret at SSR Performance for the time being.

SSR Performance crowned as ADAC GT Masters runner-up in 2021 with Nürburgring victory

Michael Ammermüller (GER) and Mathieu Jaminet (FRA) fought an exciting battle for the ADAC GT Masters championship right up to the last race. In the end, four points separated the team from defending their title.

Race 1

After a close qualifying session on Saturday, Mathieu Jaminet started the race from the third row. With a strong performance by the factory driver at the start and collisions between rivals in the first corner, the Frenchman was able to hand over the #92 to Michael Ammermüller in third position. The perfect strategy for the pit stop ensured another success in the second half of the race. The veteran crossed the finish line in the Eifel in second position and thus maintained his chance for the title with a gap of 25 points. The three-way battle for the German GT Championship was not to be decided until Sunday.

Race 2

Thick fog and drizzle caused a delayed start to the final qualifying of the season on Sunday. Michael Ammermüller made the best possible use of the conditions and drove the 911 to the second starting position. Already at the beginning of the race, a few clashes led to the red flag and after a short break the restart took place behind the safety car. After the driver change, Mathieu Jaminet took the lead and confidently steered the #92 to the final victory of the season.

The battle for the championship couldn’t have been closer. In the end, only four points separated SSR Performance from defending the title. Michael Ammermüller and Mathieu Jaminet are thus the ADAC GT Masters vice-champions in 2021. Thanks to their strong performance, the Munich team can also celebrate the vice-title in the team classification.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t quite enough for the title, but the gap was damn small. We have to acknowledge that Land came out on top during the season. But I’m very proud of the team’s performance. We came here third in the championship and still almost managed to defend the title. That was an excellent team effort!“

We can be very proud of the result. After some time, we will start planning for 2022 in order to get a powerful project off the ground again.”

He had a very strong season and was a great addition to the team. We have to be very satisfied – we just had a little more bad luck than the others.”

„Looking at this weekend, we couldn’t have done much more. 47 points have been the most points which have been scored by a car on one weekend, I think. We had a really good race on Sunday and a solid weekend overall. We finished the season on a high. Unfortunately, Land Motorsport also had a good weekend. We are just short of four points. That’s racing. We had a lot of highs but also a couple of lows and that kept us from the win. I’d like to thank the entire team for putting such a great program together!”
