Munich. SSR Performance made a name for itself in motorsport within a very short time. After the ADAC GT Masters rookie season 2020, in which both the team and driver titles were won, the team is more than successful this year as well. The mission to defend the title should not remain the only sporting goal.
The guest start in the DTM is set for August 20-22, 2021 at the Nürburgring. With Michael Ammermüller there is no stranger behind the wheel of the starting number 92. The 35-year-old has already had some successes in his career. The official Formula 1 Red Bull Racing test driver from 2007 emerged as the winner of the international Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup in 2017, 2018 and 2019. Several victories and the championship title in the ADAC GT Masters 2020 are also among the career highlights of the German.
With the DTM guest start, SSR Performance is once again positioning itself with its strong Porsche line-up.
Stefan Schlund, Managing Director of SSR Performance GmbH: “As a company owner, I am constantly thinking about where and how the company can best be positioned. With the guest start, we would like to find out whether the DTM is the right platform to set up SSR performance even more broadly in the future. We had a short-term, very compressed planning phase and are starting with a newly assembled team. We look forward to the guest start at the traditional Nürburgring. ”
Michael Ammermüller, SSR Performance driver: “I am very happy that SSR Performance chose me as a driver for the DTM guest start. This is my first race weekend in this series – it will definitely be a big challenge. A perfect preparation was not possible due to the short time, the regulations are different. This will definitely make it exciting and interesting! I’m highly motivated to start at the Nürburgring. ”
Wolfgang Hatz, Team Principal SSR Performance: “I have very good memories of the DTM, in which I have been actively participating for many years. Now we are hoping for a super exciting race weekend with our young SSR Performance team. Above all, we would like to be able to make a contribution to the region with the first race after the severe weather disaster. ”
