Munich. The DTM starts the second half of the season this weekend. At the legendary Nürburgring, a top speed of up to 265 km/h awaits motorsport fans on site.
SSR Performance competes with the two Porsche 911 GT3 R in the unmistakable green against the prominent field of drivers. Porsche contract driver Dennis Olsen celebrated his first podium finish at the Norisring. Team colleague Laurens Vanthoor impressed with another race to catch up and scored points in the #92 car. All chances are still open in the championship, but they have to step on the gas pedal on the 3.629-kilometre sprint track in the “Green Hell”. The upward trend of the last few rounds is to be pursued and expanded.
The squad from Munich is currently in sixth place in the team ranking. However, with a deficit of 41 points, nothing is decided yet. SSR Performance intends to take advantage of the eight remaining races.

Stefan Schlund, Team Owner: “The long summer break was good for the team. Everyone was able to relax and spend time with family. We are looking forward to the weekend at the Nürburgring and hope to finish in the points with both cars.”
Mario Schuhbauer, Team Principal SSR Performance: “We are happy to be at the Nürburgring after the summer break. We want to take the upward trend from the Norisring with us and have continued to work on our performance as a team. Last year we were able to gain a little experience at the guest start. For us, the focus is clearly on the team championship. The goal for this weekend is to be in the top 3.”
Laurens Vanthoor, driver #92: “I was on the road a lot in the first half of the season, so I thoroughly enjoyed the summer break. I was involved in many different projects, but now I can fully concentrate on the DTM. The first weekends didn’t go according to plan, so I hope we can now put the problems behind us. I like the Nürburgring – the aim is to finish on the podium.”
Dennis Olsen, driver #94: “It was nice to spend a few weeks in Norway. We are ready to attack at the Nürburgring. Ending the first half of the season on a podium was very positive for us. We would like to continue to follow this trend. We’ve seen that we’re competitive, but we need to keep working on ourselves. I look forward to the challenge!”
