- Third DTM weekend in Imola, Italy
- Laurens Vanthoor in #92 and Dennis Olsen in #94
Munich. Tradizione, passione, pizza e pasta – the third DTM event of the season takes place at one of the most beautiful tracks in Italy, in Imola. SSR Performance is highly motivated for the two races on the 4.909 km long track. 22 turns offer the fans a lot of action and excitement on site when they cheer for about 30 vehicles. The DTM celebrates its premiere at the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari, as does Laurens Vanthoor, who did the first laps in the Porsche 911 GT3 R during testing at the beginning of June.
The Munich based team with its unmistakable vehicle designs has not yet been able to fully show its potential. But in the remaining five events, the aim is to have the performance on point.
The team is supported by the EDAG Group, Allianz Generalvertretung Wolfram Blank e.K., Becker Carbon, DC AVIATION, Hochwald Sprudel, itWheels by tyremotive, KW Suspensions, Laco watches, MOTUL, NIMEX, Riemensperger Mechanische Werkstätte GmbH and Valuniq Business Consulting.
Also this year, SSR Performance can count on the support of Becker Carbon. With passion, the company has been a dynamic driving force and innovative trendsetter in the field of fiber composite production for more than 20 years and sees itself as future-proof for the challenges of tomorrow.
Another long-standing partner is Hochwald Sprudel. Grown from family tradition and run as an innovative family business for several generations, Hochwald Sprudel has been rooted in the Hochwald region and the national park communities for many decades. The Schwollen and Thalfang production sites are located in the midst of this natural setting. Sustainable use of resources has always been important to the company, because natural mineral water is also a natural product. Social commitment is also an important concern for Hochwald Sprudel, which is why they support the Laureus – Sport For Good Foundation in the implementation of sponsorship projects for children and young people. In addition to mineral water, the Hochwald product range also includes lemonades, spritzers, as well as sports and soft drinks.
Stefan Schlund, Team Owner SSR Peformance: “Since I’ve never been to Imola myself, I’m particularly looking forward to a great track. The atmosphere in the team is very good. In the past few weeks we have continued to work on ourselves and our performance. I hope we can put in a good performance and have the luck on our side to get the first podium positions. That is our goal.”
Mario Schuhbauer, Team Principal SSR Performance: “After the races in Portimao and at the Lausitzring, we worked even harder and more self-critically on our performance, tested and analyzed the sessions very carefully. The atmosphere and the cohesion of the team is impressive. Everyone is highly motivated for the upcoming race in Italy and we will give everything to get on the podium.”
Laurens Vanthoor, driver #92: “After two 24-hour races, neither of which unfortunately ended positively, it is now definitely time for success stories. We took a step in the right direction at the Lausitzring. We have to continue to follow this trend and then we should also be able to fight for podium positions. Imola is a completely new track for me. That’s why I was able to prepare well for the race on the test day and I’m now looking forward to attacking.”
Dennis Olsen, driver #94: “I am really looking forward to the upcoming DTM weekend! We worked very hard on our performance to achieve better results. We hope that we can show that in Imola and be among the front runners.”
