Munich. SSR Performance is starting its second year in the ADAC GT Masters. The goal set for 2021: Mission to defend the title with a strong driver pairing consisting of the reigning champion, Michael Ammermüller, and the winner of 2018 Mathieu Jaminet.
Last year, the final two rounds of the championship were held in Oschersleben. With the first and fourth place overall, the team from Munich was finally able to secure the title. This year’s season opener should build on these successes.
New this year is the technical partnership with the EDAG Group.

With this commitment, the company will use its proven expertise in 360 degree engineering in the overall vehicle development and at the same time the technology transfer to further promote high-performance vehicles in series vehicles for future customer projects.
The EDAG Group has many years of international experience and serves as a premium engineering partner worldwide, many well-known vehicle manufacturers and tier 1 suppliers. The success of the company, founded in 1969, is based not only on the holistic engineering portfolio for vehicles, production systems, software and digitalization, but also on its own claim to proactively develop its own concepts and solutions for optimizing mobility.
“This means that we are constantly expanding our competencies and constantly collecting new knowledge for our teams,” explains Cosimo De Carlo (CEO of the EDAG Group). “Our involvement in the ADAC GT Masters and the SSR successful team is therefore a real win-win situation. With our understanding of the entire vehicle and our expertise in lightweight construction, aerodynamics and simulation, we can provide valuable technical support for the further development of the SSR Porsche 911 GT3 R. At the same time, we let our experience flow into future customer projects. ”
In addition, the team is supported by Becker Carbon, Riemensperger Mechanische Werkstätte GmbH, Hochwald Sprudel, Cruisefire, Sonic Tools, NIMEX and KW Suspensions.
Stefan Schlund, Managing Director of SSR Performance GmbH is looking forward to the season: “Now it’s about getting to the point and starting the second season with a high level of concentration. Our goal is to get as many points as possible from the first race weekend. The pointers are set to zero again and I hope that with the necessary luck we can fight for the championship.”
Michael Cap, Head of Motorsports, is also confident: “The motorsport season 2021 begins where the 2020 season ended with a very successful finale for us. We are very happy to be starting the ADAC GT Masters season 2021 in Oschersleben. In the official preseason test three weeks ago, we were able to achieve good results and we will of course do everything we can to be able to call up the performance again on the first race weekend. ”
“The test was very promising. We were able to work out one or two things on every circuit and so we can start the season well prepared. The driver pairing is very strong. That’s why I’m looking forward to the opening weekend with confidence. The competition in the ADAC GT Masters is very high – our goal must be to collect as many points as possible and win races. As a defending champion you become the hunted. That is why it is my priority not to make any mistakes and to build on the success of last year”, says Wolfgang Hatz, Team Principal of SSR Performance.
