Stefan Schlund, team owner SSR Peformance: “We worked very hard over the winter. It’s definitely a challenge to start a team of this magnitude. The last few weeks have been very intense, so I’m looking forward to the start of the season. I’m very proud of our team and I’m excited to see how we will perform in terms of the BoP.”
Mario Schuhbauer, Team Principal SSR Performance: “Our crew has had a lot of work to prepare for. Especially after the official tests in Hockenheim we accelerated again to be able to present ourselves in the best possible way at the season opener in Portimao. The aim is to deliver a performance that is as flawless as possible, in order to be able to compete successfully in the strong field of the DTM.”
Laurens Vanthoor, driver #92: „I’m very much looking forward to finally get going. We’ve done a lot of work to prepare for the season. It’s obvious that we are all new to DTM, that’s not something to be underestimate as it’s a tough championship with teams and drivers having been there for many years. Nevertheless, I think we have all of the key ingredients to be successful. Now it’s all about how quick we can show that. We have to work hard to get the results we deserve. I’m looking forward to Portimao and to kick off the season.”
Dennis Olsen, driver #94: „I’m super excited to get started. We have spent a lot of time to prepare ourselves and really be on top of things before the first race kicks off. We’ve had a good test in Hockenheim as well. Our competitors are very strong, so I’m excited to find out where we’ll be compared to them. They have a lot of experience in the championship, which we of course lack. The target is to do our best to drive up front and collect as many championship points as possible in Portimao.”
